Kapawe’no First Nation – On March 1, 2025, grade 2 female students at Kapawe’no Nehiyawak School participated in equipment fitting as they prepared for their first skate. Mr. Sergiy Ivanyuk, the KFN Collegiate Hockey Coordinator, helped with the fitting. He worked closely with the girls to ensure they had the proper gear. The students learned about the importance of using the right equipment for their safety and performance.
The girls expressed excitement about their upcoming ice skating session today. What we are doing at KFN Collegiate Hockey Academy is amazing and its aims to encourage physical activity and build confidence among young nehiyawak athletes.
Kinanaskomin Central Sports Edmonton for donating the equipment this year so students can pursue their dream of playing hockey safely.
