KFN Collegiate and High Prairie Redwings Team Up for 2025 Playoffs

Kapawe’no First Nation – KFN Collegiate has teamed up with the High Prairie Redwings for the 2025 NJHL playoffs, creating a winning combination for the home team fans and our students. Currently, the Lac La Biche Lakers lead the series 2-1, winning both their home games.

Game 1: The Redwings faced a tough challenge, losing in overtime 4-3 to the Lakers in Lac La Biche.
Game 2: Rayden Perkins had a standout performance with one goal and three assists, leading the Redwings to a 5-3 victory over the Lakers in Peavine. Congratulations to Rayden for an impressive contribution to the team’s success.

The game 2 was filled with excitement at Peavine, as the Muskwak Juniors kicked things off with two grandfather drum,songs. Nick, a Grade 1 student, and Reid, a Grade 3 student, proudly skated onto the ice with the Nation flag and Kapawe’no Nehiyawak School flag. During intermission, our Muskwak U11 team entertained the crowd with a quick hockey game.

Game 3: The Lakers took Game 3, breaking the tie in the series. The 4-2 win with an empty goal gives the Lakers an advantage in the series, both teams continue to put up a strong fight.
We look forward to seeing more thrilling moments and a hockey spirit as the series progresses. Go Redwings and Muskwak Go!
