KFN Collegiate Athletics Update – Hockey

Kapawe’no First Nation – You heard it first from us, our KFN Collegiate Athletic Director Mr Brian Thomas and his assistant Rod Sutherland continue to keep our students active with skill development and disciplining athletes.

The kindergarten students enjoyed mini hockey and got into the flow of the game right away. They enjoyed passing and especially scoring. The most important aspect was the love of the game. While slowly introducing the mechanics of the sport. Holding the stick correctly and passing correctly.

The grade 5/6 loved the competitive game of floor hockey. The girls and boys played a spirited game against each other. Their knowledge of the game has improved greatly. The passing and shooting has helped many of our ice hockey student athletes improve on the ice.
