Edmonton, Treaty 6 Territory – They call it Sunday Funday, and making it to Sunday usually means you’re in the playoffs. The Kapawe’no Muskwak started Game 6 strong against the Chiefs. Cassius McDonald put them on the scoreboard first in the first period, with assists from Maxwell Crier and Jacob Fleming. However, the Chiefs quickly responded. Grady Wedman tied the game, and Carter Ellsworth followed with another goal. By the end of the first period, the Chiefs led 2-1, with the Muskwak outshooting them 25-12.
In the second period, the Chiefs extended their lead to 3-1, Muskwak doubling their shot count against the Chiefs. The third period saw the Chiefs solidify their dominance on the scoreboard with two more goals, further hindering the Muskwak’s chances. Despite their strong efforts and a massive total shot count of 65-29, the Muskwak couldn’t find the back of the net in the second or third periods.
