Kapewe’no First Nation – At Kapawe’no Nêhiyawak School, a unique educational experience unfolds within a traditional tipi, where kindergarten and first-grade students learn music intertwined with Nêhiyawak ancestral teachings. Guided by music teacher Mr. Fred Mack, the class is more than just music lessons; it’s an immersive journey into the Nêhiyawak way of life.

Central to Mr. Mack’s teachings from learning during the Nêhiyawêwin every morning is the integration of the Sacred Grandmother and Grandfather teachings, with a focus on Sakihitowin (Love), symbolized by Kihew (Eagle).
