Kapawe’no First Nation – Kapawe’no Muskwak is making a significant impact at this year’s Alberta Native Hockey Provincials by entering five teams across various age groups, including U9, U11, U13, U15, and U18 Elite. This participation underscores the Nation’s commitment to developing young hockey talent. Coaches from the Kapawe’no Nation and the schools, specifically Kapawe’no Nêhiyawak School and Buffalo Bay Academy, have been instrumental in this effort.
Students train weekly in High Prairie with the help of the High Praire Junior Red Wings and on synthetic ice at their schools, blending physical skill-building with Nêhiyawak values. Their participation in the provincials is a display of athletic skill, nation unity, and Nêhiyawak pride, showcasing the resilience and strength. Muskwak proud forever!
