Kapawe’no First Nation – The strive for excellence and greatness continues. Kapawe’no First Nation, part of the larger N?hinawak Nation, has taken a significant step in learning development by endorsing the Lifelong Learning (LLL) Strategic Plan 2024-29. This plan upholds the Nation’s unceded right to education, integrating N?hinawak identity, culture, and sovereignty. It reflects commitments to past agreements and the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, emphasizing educational support aligned with N?hinawak miyo pimacihowin.
At the core of the plan is the integration of traditional teachings with modern learning methodologies. It includes the Seven Grandfather/Grandmother Teachings and the Nehiyawak miyo pimacihowin, aiming to cultivate economic, cultural, and spiritual growth in the Nation. The Chief and Council’s endorsement underscores a commitment to principles and actionable steps fostering continual knowledge development.
