State of Play – Athletic Progress and Nation Spirit at FNC with Brian Thomas

April 24, 2024

Kapawe’no First Nation – 2024 has moved quickly at Kapawe’no First Nation School and Buffalo Bay Academy, where the athletic program continues to thrive balancing with academics.

This year, we’ve enjoyed an array of sports including volleyball, basketball, floor hockey, badminton, pickleball, lacrosse and archery. However, the standout has been our hockey program, which has grown tremendously. The effort and coordination required from our support staff and players have been substantial, and their hard work has not gone unnoticed.

As we transition from winter to spring, the focus will shift to lacrosse, baseball, track and field, and inter-school badminton competitions. These activities keep our students active and strengthen the bonds within our community. I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in our sports programs. Your participation at all levels truly makes this a vibrant nation event.
