Kapawe’no First Nation – Reese Heidecker is a registered occupational therapist based out of Edmonton, Alberta. They graduated from the University of Alberta School of Rehabilitation Medicine in 2010 with a Masters Degree. Before coming to Kapawe’No First Nation, Reese worked at the Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital in Edmonton where they worked in pediatrics on several different teams including feeding and swallowing, physical medicine and neurodevelopmental assessment clinics.
Using the valuable lessons learned during their time at the Glenrose, Reese brings an ambitious attitude to the school for teaching and sharing their expertise in the areas of: fine motor skills, printing, social skills, emotional regulation and sensory processing. Reese has had a passion for travelling and exploring nature since they were a child.
When the opportunity to work at KFN school came up, Reese did not think twice. Reese’s favorite thing to do at the school is find something to bug George about and teach the foundational skills for printing using Super Mario characters and Play-Doh!
