Kapawe’no First Nation – Our dedicated grade 7-12 wind/brass/percussion band will be doing an exciting field trip May 24th-26th! They will be going all the way down to Red Deer to participate in the Alberta Band Association Festival of Bands. They will be performing 3 songs onstage at Red Deer Polytechnic College, and will perform a Chorale piece during their clinic/workshop afterwards. Their workshop will include tips on performing, playing techniques, and other musical skills and concepts.
The students will be staying at Pioneer Camp on the beautiful Crimson Lake in Clearwater County. They will be staying in cabins, and enjoying nature around the area. Some tentative activities include hiking in the mountains, horse riding and camp games.
This will be a great way for the students to decompress in the outdoors after working hard to prepare for their performance.
