Kapawe’no First Nation – At Kapawe’no Nêhiyawak School, students in grades 4-6 enjoyed a hands-on learning experience in their food class, led by Mrs. Berlinda Sharkawi. They focused on crafting personalized charcuterie boards, selecting items from various food groups, including treats, to design their own artistic creations. This practical activity was part of a broader curriculum on healthy eating, aimed at empowering students to make nutritious choices for their lunches and snacks.
Mrs. Sharkawi’s innovative lesson plan educated the students about balanced diets and made the learning process both engaging and enjoyable. By applying their knowledge in a creative and delightful way, the students experienced firsthand the fun and flavor of healthy eating.
