Kapawe’no First Nation – Springtime reverberates with the sounds of singing birds and whispering winds. Our First Nation Collegiate students added to this melody last night by showcasing the songs and skills they have learned this year under the guidance of Fred Mack. It has been a privilege to watch the music program grow from a mere seed in spring to a flourishing garden.
Encouragement from all the staff and the acquisition of beautiful instruments at the start of the year have nurtured this growth.
The music program has been a major success, demonstrating that the world of music, which can often seem elitist and exclusive, is ready for a harmonious blend of traditional Nehiyaw sounds and Western classical music. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Mr. Mack and all the students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 for bringing beautiful sounds to our school and the world.
As we approach the end of the school year, we are filled with excitement and determination. We look forward to the looming summer break, a time for balance, rest, and rejuvenation. Let’s end this school year on a high note and eagerly anticipate the refreshing summer ahead.
