Willow Point, Sucker Creek First Nation – At the Oti Nekan 125th Treaty 8 Gathering, on Monday 17 June 2024, Buffalo Bay Academy students stepped up to assist with registration, showcasing their dedication and nation spirit. Under the guidance of the amazing Michelle Knibb, Lifetime Councillor Pam Halcrow, Lifetime Councillor Deb Chalifoux, and Elder Knowledge Keeper Diane Halcrow, Grade 8/9 Instructor Wendy Lamouche, the students managed registration efficiently and warmly welcomed attendees.
The involvement of Buffalo Bay Academy students at the Oti Nekan 125th Treaty 8 Gathering underscores the academy’s role in nurturing future leaders who are grounded in their Pimacihowin and ready to contribute meaningfully to their Nations.
