Kapawe’no First Nation – Mrs. Sharkawi’s Grade 4 class in our Kapawe’no Nehiyawak School continues to shine this month with a remarkable 100% attendance rate, with one student having an excused absence. Their enthusiasm for learning is reflected in the four core subjects in particular the effective completion of their Social Studies Unit on Time and Place, which has spurred a keen interest in literacy. Utilizing engaging tools and resources, the students have elevated their reading experiences, bolstered by vocabulary word lists taken home regularly.
The class has incorporated the Dolch word list into their studies, alongside two Nehiyawewin words each week, fostering linguistic diversity and pimachimowin understanding. Their monthly classroom newsletter captures these dynamic activities and highlights their collective achievements, fostering a spirit of collaborative success.
