Kapawe’no First Nation – Kapawe’no First Collegiate and its schools recently had the honor of welcoming back Mr. Fred Mack, the esteemed music teacher who pioneered the school’s flourishing music program in the 2023/24 school year. Known for his unique teaching style with brass instruments, Mr. Mack played an instrumental role in laying the foundation for a thriving music culture within the schools. During his recent visit, he expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to be part of the school’s rich musical tradition.
Central to Mr. Mack’s legacy is his role in recruiting Mr. Colin Campbell, the current music teacher who has significantly contributed to the program’s ongoing success. With his own distinctive teaching approach with string instruments, Mr. Campbell continues to build on the strong foundation established by Mr. Mack. Together, their contributions emphasize the collaborative spirit and dedication to excellence that define Kapawe’no First Collegiate’s music program for all schools and the nation.
