Kapawe’no First Nation – President Clyde Goodswimmer and Director of Operations Joseph Busch from Native Hockey Alberta Council (NHAC) joined the gathering to celebrate and honor Hereditary Chief Sydney L. Halcrow and our Buffalo Drum. This special event, known as the Honoring Our Buffalo Drum, was a significant part of the celebrations surrounding Hereditary Chief Halcrow’s leadership and contributions to academics and athletics.
As part of this uplifting occasion, the announcement of Buffalo Bay Academy’s opening continues. Set to welcome more students next year, this new residency elite sports academy will focus higher academics and sports with attention on hockey, offering teams for ages U11 to U18. The academy aims to nurture young talent and provide excellent opportunities for student/athletes to grow and excel in their academics and athletics, following Hereditary Chief Halcrow’s vision of fostering knowledge ever increasing.
