Kapawe’no First Nation – On the third day of our professional development week, KFN Collegiate staff kicked off with a smudge and honor song led by our pimachimowin team. Principal of Kapawe’no Nehiyawak School, Mr. Jorden Thiessen, reflected on the previous day’s activities and reviewed the agenda for the rest of the week.
A sharing circle led by Superintendent Mr. Boh Kubrakovich-Kiniw helped set the tone for the morning. A session that continues to bring out stories, sharing and staff feeling good about having a voice at KFN Collegiate. Following the sharing circle, the team engaged in a workshop and breakout session focused on policy development, reviewing current draft policies at KFN Collegiate to ensure alignment with our mission, vision and core values;
