Kapawe’no First Nation – As spring breathes new life into the land, the outdoor tipi classroom becomes a vibrant hub for Nêhiyawak learning and engagement. Welcoming students from Kapawe’no Nehiyawak School, this space hosts dynamic nêhiyawak pimachimowin and sharing circles. Elder Knowledge Keeper Don Cunningham and Coordinator Scott Courtorielle lead these sessions, imparting traditional wisdom and fostering a deep connection to the land.
Balanced under the tipi, students experience the richness of nêhiyawêwin and traditions in an immersive setting. This unique learning approach encourages students to embrace being nêhiyawak while learning practical, cultural, and spiritual lessons in unity and respect. With nature as a backdrop, the tipi classroom exemplifies the seamless integration of nêhiyawak knowledge and ancestral learning.
